There are three methods of validation – by domain, organization and extended validation.
- Domain Validation - verification is required only for the owned domain.
- Organization Validation - domain and organization contact details are required.
- Extended Validation (EV) - there is a detailed examination to verify the organization (registration and office address, telephone number(s) and standing of the company).

The SSL certificate validity is the period from its issue until the expiry date.
